We Need Your Help!
Hi parents!
We're in the final days! Thank you for all you've done so far and for your support through the rest of this week. We can't do it without you!
We need water for the actors backstage for all remaining rehearsals. Please email me if you can send in bottled water for the cast (a 24-pack and a 12-pack will do) either Wednesday, Thursday, Friday morning, Friday night, Saturday morning or Saturday night. I need 6 people or 6 groups of people to make this happen. Please don't assume someone else will do it. If you're available and willing, please let me know. You can drop the water in the PLC any time prior to the rehearsal you're volunteering for right inside the doors by our lighting and sound equipment in the back. Please write your name in Sharpie so I know who has brought it in. Gotta keep those singers hydrated!
We're also in need of AA battery donations and they must be alkaline. We go through all sorts of batteries for the microphones over the course of the production. If you're out shopping or have some at home, please send them in with your child and have them brought back to the sound table.

TECH Schedule and Makeup REQUIREMENTS- Dates Edited
All actors are called from 12-6 this Sunday. Please eat lunch beforehand and bring a snack if you'll be hungry. Please read on for the tentative schedule for Tech Week.
Please see the previous post about costume requirements and bring everything required on Sunday. I am still missing many costume fees. Please bring those as well.

- black pencil eye liner
- liquid foundation on their face prior to each rehearsal and performance starting Thursday (except ancestors)
- baggie and each item inside it labeled with child's name
All actors are asked to donate at least one item from the categories below to the communal hair and makeup stash. These items run out quickly!
- Ancestors- Aquanet hairspray
- Mothers- black bobby pins
- Daughters- makeup removal wipes
- Sons- translucent powder in a jar (not pressed)
- Fathers- triangle makeup sponges
- Everyone else- pick one from categories above

Costume Requirements: Please Read COMPLETELY
Hello everyone!
For those of you who participated in the musical last year,
this post will look very familiar.
Please read on to be fully aware of all costume requirements to be brought to rehearsal by Sunday, April 27th.
All actors are
asked to pay a $30 costume fee to offset the cost of costume rental. Please
make checks payable to HFCS and bring to my classroom this week. Envelope, your name and class, please.
All actors will
wear the same shoes found at this link and a
little cheaper on Amazon. Please clearly label them with your first
and last name on the inside of the shoe. If you read the comments, you’ll find
many people wear these as everyday shoes and find that they are very
comfortable. Remember when I was asking you to wear closed-toe shoes to
rehearsal? Problem solved! I’ve done a great deal of reading about different
shoes like these and think the RUBBER SOLES are going to be important on our
hardwood stage, particularly for those of you doing martial arts! Please order
only from these two links. The link to Karate Depot has great reports of fast
shipping, so in the event the size is wrong then you have time to exchange or if you find the shoes are
too slippery on hardwood, please let me know. Please pay attention to the
reviews and sizing recommendations on the websites. Thank you!
All actors are
asked to provide their own full-length garment bag clearly
labeled with their first and last name. Our costume rental arrives the Monday
of the show. Please make the organization and steaming of the costumes as easy
as possible for the parents helping. You can find a suitable one at
this link on Walmart.com. This particular product comes in a pack of three
for less than $12. You can select “Ship to Store” and they will be available
for pick up by the end of the week.
If
12 orders are made, we have enough for the whole cast.
Many of you have
asked me how you can help. If you’re willing to buy one or more packs of these
garment bags and have them shipped to HFCS, please email me. I’ll keep you all
updated on the progress of our orders so hopefully you all don’t need to place
separate ones. This would be a very helpful donation to the Genesian Players
for future years so we don’t have to continue asking for each child to bring
one for every show. Thank you!
All actors are
asked to provide at least two hangers clearly labeled with their first and last
name.
Actors in Keep Em’
Guessin (Mushu’s song) that was blocked today are required to provide a
short sleeved black t-shirt in the same style as our cast shirts (available at Walmart or Michael’s) and full-length
black pants. Please label with your first and last name. No tight fitting tees, please.
Girls are
required to wear a sports bra and shorts during all dress rehearsals and
performances.
You have just shy of 2 weeks to acquire these things. Even
if you are going out of town for Spring Break, you either have these items at
home or can pretty easily order them online and have them in time. You can do
it!

Immediate Help Needed
Hi Parents,
Desperate plea. Is anyone available to take a large vehicle to Bishop Moore on Saturday between 4 and 9 pm to pick up two medium-large staircase units and a small two-step unit? I think a large suv would suffice but I am without a vehicle of any kind that would do it and really need help. Please email me ASAP if you are available to pick them up tomorrow. I prefer you email mfinnegan@hfcschool.com for this purpose. Thank you!

Oration Contest CHANGE
Hi Everybody!
Thank you for all of your responses to this week's schedule! I realized after hearing from you and talking to the girls at rehearsal yesterday that half of the oration contest finalists would be performing in "Honor to Us All" on Friday. This is one of a couple factors that has made me rethink my plan and switch to performing "A Girl Worth Fighting For" on Friday night instead. This means that if you were scheduled to perform in "Honor to Us All" on Friday night, you're off the hook! We'll just have to wait until the real deal in May to see that one!
If you are in "A Girl Worth Fighting For," please email me to let me know one way or the other if you can make it to the Oration Contest on Friday night. I will be there early and ask that you arrive at 6:45 to be present and cheer on your classmates who are competing that evening.
I'll be waiting on emails from Isabella H, Kyle D, Kyle S, Matthew, Amelia, Roger, CJ and Maiya.
Please plan to wear your Mulan t-shirt with long pants and closed shoes. If you are performing in the band that evening, plan to leave your shirt on the stairs and pull it over your required clothes for your band performance.

Please read the schedule carefully and make every effort to attend our final full week of rehearsals before spring break and tech week. We did our first run-through of the show today and it was fabulous!! Keep up the great work! All actors should know ALL of their lines and lyrics by our full run-through this Sunday.
