Genesians Code of Conduct

"I will arrive to rehearsal early and stay the entire time."
  • Early is not on time.
  • Early means 10-15 minutes before rehearsal starts so you can put your things down, review your script, ask any questions ahead of time and be ready to begin on time.
  • This also means that you have decided to make this production your priority.  There are plenty of other kids did not make the cast who would be thrilled to take your spot.
"I will use down time to make the production better."
  • Chatting with your friends while we're rehearsing a scene does not make the production better. Disappearing, being loud, distracting others, and getting off task creates problems we will not take time to deal with.
  • You can improve our production by paying close attention to scenes currently rehearsing, running a scene with a scene partner in a separate area or running your lines with a partner.
"I will bring my script with me to every rehearsal without exception."
  • Yes, you will have your lines memorized within a couple of weeks (YES, YOU CAN!).
  • Your script is your map to this production and you will bring it with you to every rehearsal.
"I will raise the bar for all cast and crew members."
  • Each one of you is a vital piece of the machine that makes this production happen.  One piece that fails to operate as it should drags the entire production down.
  • Part of raising the bar is KEEPING FOCUS.  When you walk into the rehearsal space, turn your cell phone off and do not touch it until rehearsal is over.
